THANKSGIVING SIPS – HARVEST PUNCH RECIPE

pedro

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we can’t think of a more perfect excuse for a party! If you’re planning on throwing a Thanksgiving dinner this weekend, whether you’re going all out – turkey, stuffing, all the bells and whistles; or just a small gathering with the closest friends and family, a cocktail that showcases Fall ingredients and flavours is sure to be a hit. To avoid playing bartender all evening, you need a drink that can be mixed into a large batch and served in a festive punch bowl or pitcher.

Our head mixologist Gabor Molnár whipped together a delicious concoction that I’m sure will be a winner. This Harvest Punch can be pre-batched so all you have to do is make it out of the fridge and serve. You can even make a smaller non-alcoholic version for the kids as well (just leave out the bourbon!)

Recipe for the Harvest Punch, (perfect for up to 10 people):

15oz of your favourite Bourbon
15 oz of spiced punch mix
5oz of fresh lemon juice
10 dashes of Angostura bitters
Just before serving top with 2 bottles of ginger beer

Spiced Punch Mix:

1 cup of water
1 cup of maple syrup
4 tbsp. of pumpkin puree (unsweetened and unsalted)
2 pinches of ground cinnamon & nutmeg
1 tsp of vanilla extract

To make the spiced punch mix throw all of the punch ingredients into a blender and mix so all ingredients are worked together.

Add your punch mix, bourbon, lemon and bitters into a large pitcher or container and leave in the fridge until ready to serve. Stir the cocktail before serving and add your ginger beer to the mix before pouring into individual glasses. Enjoy!
